the Making of No Movie

received back my film from the screening at the New York Flicker Film Festival. take a look:

The texts in the film are hard to read. They are about that the film consits of foto's of the shoot made by Marija Kavaliauskaite, who acted as the woman in the film. We planned to shoot "The wind Inside', a super 8 film about a woman that appears as wind inside the mill, while the miller is waiting for the wind to blow outside.

Just before the shooting the current caretaker of the mill, Anna, told me - to my great surprise - a story of the deceased wife of a miller in the 19th century, who burned to death in the mill when it was hit by lightning.

As we start shooting all kind of technical problems arose and finally it appeared that even no film was recorded in the camera that day. "It's the woman", Marija said, and presented, later on the way back home, the more than 700 photo's she took that day of the shooting.

I recorded a stopmotion like film of the photo's, together with this story and presented that at the festival in NYC.
